Programme validation is a key quality assurance process QQI uses to approve new programmes proposed by providers of education and training.
We do this so you can be assured that successful completion of a programme validated by us will lead to the NFQ (National Framework of Qualifications) awards as outlined.
Programme validation is a two-stage process.
The first stage is approval of the provider’s ability to quality assure its programmes.
The second stage is the validation by us of a specific programme(s). We do this by appointing independent expert(s) to compare provider proposals against the requirements of the particular NFQ award(s).
If the proposed programme meets our criteria, it can be validated for up to five years. If the criteria are not met then the programme cannot be offered as proposed.
