The process by which a provider gets a programme accredited by QQI for the first time is called Initial Access to Programme Validation. View Policy and Criteria for Provider Access to Initial Validation of Programmes Leading to QQI Awards.
Any provider seeking programme accreditation must first have approval of its institutional capacity and quality assurance procedures. (Stage 1).
We can only consider an application for validation when this has been achieved.
Providers should be aware that we set standards for awards. We do not develop programmes nor give learner-assessment support to providers.
Providers are responsible for the development, maintenance, provision and internal quality assurance (QA) of their own programmes; and have procedures for assessing enrolled learners on those programmes.
To get more details on the application process see Initial Access to Programme Validation
